Phase 2+ · Registered tour operators only

Operator Permit Transfer Exchange

A UWA-API-authenticated exchange that lets registered tour operators transfer a released gorilla or chimpanzee permit to another operator's client — digitizing a practice operators already run informally today.

Not open to the public. Individual travelers cannot buy, sell, reserve, or browse permits here. Gorilla and chimpanzee permits must always be purchased through the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) or a UWA-licensed tour operator. This exchange is a business-to-business service for UWA-verified operators only.

How it works for operators

1

Register with your UWA-issued operator credentials — UWA vouches for your legitimacy, not Red Rocks.

2

List a released permit when a client cancels, visible only to other verified operators.

3

Transact the transfer with another registered operator through the exchange.

4

Submit the change-of-traveler-details request electronically — UWA's system remains the authoritative record and executes the reassignment.

This is a design prototype — authentication will run through UWA's operator API.
This is a design prototype — applications will be verified against UWA's operator registry.

Red Rocks earns a flat facilitation fee per completed transfer — never a resale margin on the permit price itself. This feature launches once the UWA API partnership is signed and does not block the three consumer-facing pillars above, which are live from day one.
